1999 Champion: Rwanda B
The Rwandan 'B' national football team won the 23rd edition of the CECAFA Club Cup by beating Kenya 3-1 in the final.
In addition to the trophy and gold medal, the Rwandans received 8000 US dollars, while the Kenyans were given the silver medal and 6000 dollars.
The Rwandan 'A' team, which finished third, got the bronze medal and 6000 dollars.
Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Zanzibar, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia and two A and B teams from the host country participated in the annual competition organised by the Confederation of East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA). The competition has not been held since 1996 when Sudan hosted the tournament won by Uganda.
