Mover of the Year: Senegal
Senegal climbed 8 spots to 11th following qualification for both the World Cup & African Nations Cup. Friendly wins over Japan, South Korea and Mali rounded up a very productive year.

Loser of the Year: Guinea
Guinea dropped 8 places to 22nd after being banned from the World Cup & African Nations Cup for illegal government interference. All their qualifying matches were declared null and void.

Other Notables:
Tunisia became No.1 in Africa for the first time following qualification for both the World Cup & African Nations Cup, in the process knocking South Africa from the top spot they had held for 17 months. Although South Africa also qualified for both tournaments they lost points following elimination from the Cosafa Cup by Malawi.
Sudan jumped 8 places to 25th on the back of World Cup Qualifier wins over Ghana and Sierra Leone (twice). They also beat Libya and tied Cote d'Ivoire in the African Nations Cup qualifiers.
Liberia gained 7 places to 14th following qualification for the African Nations Cup and a second place finish behind group winners Nigeria in the World Cup Qualifiers.
